{"id":7897,"date":"2026-04-06T11:44:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T09:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/technometalhellas.gr\/chimney\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T11:44:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T09:44:03","slug":"chimney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/technometalhellas.gr\/en\/chimney\/","title":{"rendered":"CHIMNEY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Chimney and its advantages<\/p>\n\n<p>For the extraction of exhaust gases, only chimneys that have CE certification and meet specific, high standards are considered suitable.&#13;\nTECHNOMETAL HELLAS high-standard certifications, EN 1856-1: 2009 &amp; EN 1856-2: 2009 Certificate Dedal 1922-CPR-0953, began in 2007 until 2017 with the MPA NRW Materialplufungsamt Nordrhein-Westfalen and then until today with DEDAL&#13;\nTECHNOMETAL HELLAS&#8217; compliance with European standards ensures the use of appropriate materials, while the choice of a certified chimney offers ease of installation, long life, energy savings and a high aesthetic result.&#13;\nThe raw materials used are recyclable, are not hazardous to health and do not burden the environment.&#13;\nIn the high-quality insulated stainless steel chimneys of TECHNOMETAL HELLAS, the inner wall, which comes into contact with the flue gases, is made of antimagnetic stainless steel AISI 304 or AISI 316L with a thickness of 0.4mm to 0.5mm.&#13;\nThe outer wall can be made of AISI 304 steel with a thickness of 0.4mm to 0.5mm, or galvanized steel EN 10142 with a thickness of 0.5mm.&#13;\nThe insulation is made of 25mm thick ceramic wool with a density of 98 kg\/m3 and 128 kg\/m3, ceramic wool is a light and extremely flexible and non-combustible fibrous material, with high thermal insulation properties and resistance to very high temperatures up to 1260\u2103.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p>A FEW WORDS ABOUT STAINLESS STEEL&#13;\nThe advantages of stainless steel, AISI 304 &amp; AISI 316L are their excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion compared to other types of stainless steel. Fuels such as wood, coal or poor quality pellets create weak acid compounds during combustion, which corrode the inner walls of the chimney. These fuels contain elements such as sulfur (S), chlorine (CI) and nitrogen (N) which are converted under conditions into dilute sulfuric, hydrochloric and nitric acids, compounds particularly aggravating to oxidation for a stainless steel chimney, without the specifications of AISI 304 &amp; AISI 316L.&#13;\nThe Nickel (Ni) content in stainless steel alloys determines their antimagnetic character and is considered a key element in their final evaluation. The higher the percentage of Nickel (Ni) a stainless steel contains, the greater its resistance to possible corrosion.&#13;\nThus, antimagnetic stainless steel AISI 304 &amp; AISI 316L are considered materials that are particularly resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, elements that make up the specifications of a chimney.&#13;\nThe composition of AISI 304 responds particularly positively to high temperatures and intense changes in a chimney and provides safety and a long service life.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p>The AISI 316L stainless steel is characterized in relation to the AISI 304 stainless steel by higher percentages of Nickel (Ni) as well as the addition of Molybdenum (Mo), which practically make it the leading stainless steel in the chimney category with particularly high resistance to almost any type of corrosion and resistant to high temperatures, resulting in a long service life.&#13;\nStainless steels such as AISI 200 &amp;
